Collaborative Groups Established

Sosa established the Virginia Organization for Inclusive Concepts and Equitable Solutions (VOICES) and the Hampton Roads Health Equity Collaborative to bring together health systems, businesses, academic institutions, non-profit organizations, and municipalities to address social determinants of health and systemic barriers to quality health care for all. Due to the collaborative success of VOICES, the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities (VCIC) has accepted VOICES as a program under their services. The Hampton Roads Health Equity Collaborative is now Chaired by Dr. Cynthia Romero, former VA Health Commissioner and Director of the Brock Institute, Community and Global Health, Macon & Joan Brock VHS ODU, and Co-Chaired by Phyllis Stoneburner, Executive Director of Healthy Chesapeake.
